Obituary for Mildred Irene Hill

Mildred Irene Hill, 78, of Saltillo, passed away peacefully at North Mississippi Medical Center on January 1, 2019. Born in Prentiss County, Mildred was a long-time resident of Saltillo. She worked for 21 years in her home as a cosmetologist, retiring in 2000.

Mildred was very proud of her family and was excited to become “Grandmother” to her 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She enjoyed music, shopping, and sewing, along with making chocolate pies and banana pudding. Mildred was known for her feisty, yet good sense of humor. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Family and friends will gather at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn, on Thursday, January 03,2019 for visitation at from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Services honoring her life will be at Waters Funeral Home on January 04, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Terry Booker officiating. Interment will follow in Saltillo Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Nelson Hill; daughter Pam Simmons of Pontotoc; son Frankie Roberts of Saltillo; daughter DeAnna Dillard (Benji) of Clinton; brother Wayne Prince of Cairo community; grandchildren, Shauna Stegall (Randy); Jonathan Simmons (Amanda); Allison Russell (Ben); Wesley Roberts; Jim Roberts; Anna Grace Dillard; Jacob Dillard; great-grandchildren, Jolan Mills, John Mark Mills, Jaxon Russell, Kate Simmons, and Grady Russell; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mildred was also very special to her best friends Catherine Wilson and Evelyn Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley & Gladys Prince; and her siblings Ruth Armstrong, Harold Prince, J.T. Prince, and Louise Booker.

Her grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Special thanks to the staff at North Mississippi Medical Center for their loving care.
